I shit you not.

On Nov 2-5, 1200 delegates and I were at the BC Liberals Convention in Penticton. Hoo boy, let me tell ya that was some seriousSERIOUS S-E-R-I-O-U-S good times!

From my hazy memory:

Penticton's a bloody fucking cold city. And theres really nothing to do there -- except in the summer. Other than that, theres the one movie theater, 2 timmys, mcdix, one starbucks and the casino. First night I lost $3, while cashing out I told the lady..she just blinked at me and then roared away lol. 2nd night:$4. Last night: $30.

Oh yeah, and then theres the skinbar of course...home of Miss Nude BC

Complementary greetings

What a spectacle 930am Fri morning. This one guy was still there after lunch. He could have gone to work for the day instead of protesting the Coquihalla toll that charges $10. Real trooper this one; he's lucky he didn't get kidnapped

Best party to date! Liberals go all the way! Ice sculptures, dark and white chocolate fondues, live band and an open bar. 10 champagnes, 6 martinis and 2 other fizzy drinks -- then I lost count. Anywho, $50 000 spent well!! Thank-you haha!!

Constantly standing up and down, especially when seated with 160 other young yahoos (liberals) armed with thundersticks, while having the hangover of the century is rarely helpful. During this 30 min of hell, I was ready to puke, I could care less..I was feeling pretty lousy. Fortunately I didn't -- Great success!! Later, one of our guys who was being interviewed on national TV fell outta his chair hahaha...we were soo incredibly hungover.

...Closing comments

1) Regarding the road trip, we watched 6 movies. 2) I was supposed to fit in some studying time. The entire weekend I got 1.5pages done! 3) At the strip joint, it took us 20 min to finish a billards game. My friend blurted out, you really suck you know that? You're holding the stick wrong, your aim is way off, theres no strategy and quit jumping the ball will ya! The last time I played before playing was 2 Halloweens ago. Still...you gotta admit that was a very economical and worthwhile $1. 4) One of my buddies missed an exam, his prof was being a dickhead and was reluctant in allowing him a rewrite, so we had a chat w/ the Minister of Advanced Education on the importance of being present at these events

5)  We're gonna be screwed in the future b/c of some social policies. The thing is only a few of us sat in on the public safety debates while the majority sat in on economy and healthcare. B/c of the old farts there, to name a few: mandatory retirements are out, mandatory minimum sentences are in and there will be more severe driving regulations for those that fall below the standard of whats expected of a reasonable driver. Smoking indoors is a gonna be a big no-no too. Junk food is gone too.

And then there was the gained insight into how I should think and plan 25 years ahead: fastest growing economy is China; fastest growing middle class is India.

Working and living in BC: OUR FUTURE is gonna suck. It will cost an additional $22 000/yr to take care of the already aging baby boomers and blah blah blah...yadda yadda

I'm so gonna retire in BC.

"So foul and fair a day I have not seen"

I can gloomily predict I pretty much fried most of my midterms. And midterm season (which for me started in early Oct) won't end till mid November.

Today my Crim230 exam was fair but super tricky: especially the MC. Not only were the odds not in my favour but because I changed my answers so many times, I no longer knew which seemed the more likely answer or ultimately what the answer should have been.

On a more positive note, I got shortlisted for an interview regarding the upcoming Semester in Dialogue offered at Harbour.

And I'll get a mini break this weekend too...1st in weeks. Heading to Penticton for the Liberal Convention. Lets hope I don't have to study very much (highly unlikely), drink a lot (very likely) and have a good time (hopefully).

I found this:

To live a life fully, you should:

Eat like a starving child,
Study like a Rhode Scholar,
Work like a whore,
Laugh like a retard,
Inquire like a keener,
Play like a psycho,
Fuck like a rabbit,
Sleep like a baby,

And thank God you're still alive having done all these.

Life is short, so live it to its fullest, make yourself worthwhile and have fun doing it!

au revoir Costco. Then off to dinner w/ Gordie

Mon: Sheepishly handed my resignation letter, then off to dinner in surrey. 700 ppl?! Good thing there were young ppl at our table, the rest were pretty much old farts. Can you believe ppl pay that much to eat!! shieeet...

Fri: Anyways, dropped by Costco. Hoo boy, my ex-supervisior sure wasn't chummy! haha I guess I know why. Most jobs require a two week notice. Well in my case..mind was a tad abrupt.

Right now I'm in a puddle of academic shit. I'm 10 chapters behind in IntPoli, 5 chapters behind in Criminal Law, behind in Crim103. Behind here. Behind there. Terribly behind in everything except HSCI 120 -- Human Sexuality....well uh...that stuff comes naturally.

Good afternoon,

Please accept this letter as my indication to immediately vacate my current position as a Limited Part Time (LPT) Front End Assistant.

I have decided to devote further time into my academic studies – striving for the goals I have set for myself.

Thank-you for the worthwhile memories and the stray hairs. I wish this warehouse the very best of luck.

Kind regards,

Benjamin S Lee

On the Verge...eureka!

Sunday was fun. Tues was not so fun. I had a paper due at 430 and guess what...I got up, ate breakfast, then doodled. Finally I started my paper at 11. I love myself.

I'll be back...you just wait

Lets get to it.

Now this is something I never thought about doing. In fact I wouldn't been very confident in completing/competing. The most important thing, I think is we/ppl don't give up at half time. Its a challenge, its why we do it...it builds character...mental character. Toughens you up. Makes you last longer. And stronger.

57 min 49 sec --- my best time ever  My next goal is to jog up, then sprint it. It will be hard, it won't be easy, but the rewards will be sweet. yesssss sirrr

Long term goal being to finish it in 30-45 min

Next thing to do....SKYDIVING!!

Twit-ty Tens ----> to presently Twinkly Twenties....then------>Twilight Thirties?

Aug 14th was my bday. I turned into my rotten twenties. Remember I was all sore, and in no mood to P---A----R----T-----Y from my weekend hike? Well bday was a rest day.

8.14: Rest Day. Took it nice and easy.

8.15: So far I have experienced 3 degrees of drunkness: 1st time drunk was waking up w/ a splitting hangover -- called in sick...in no condition to work. 2nd drunkness was that Tues. Violently threw up at a buddy's house after being decieved -- he put like 3 shots of 151 into my ice wine. And before, I had two drinks at dinner. And then, we did some more drinking before the ice wine saga. After drinking that shit, I totally felt like throwing up. It was terribly loud and terribly messy. Bits of sausage and pasta from Anducci's were sprayed over the walls. Felt jolly good afterwards. But hungry. And thirsty. So I had some more. Chips that is. The guy needs to stock his fridge, its embarassing when theres no food around.

8.16
: Cleaned my room. Flipping through my stuff, I remembered  reading books when I was about 10.. Like those Chinese riddles and morals. About nutrition, family and strangers...

8.17
: Exercise, Mandarin class

8.18
: Grouse Grind for breakfast. #8 time. 6th time this summer. I gotta admit, everytime I do the Grouse Grind, I always think of quitting. Everytime. But I say to myself, hmmm stick it out...get to the 1/4 mark first and then we'll go from there. So I reach it, and I go hmmm  wasn't that hard, now lets go for the 1/2 mark. Reaching the 1/2 mark, Im now stumped... Fuck it how can I go back now!! So for me, 1/2 to 3/4 mark is always the easiest. And 3/4 to finish is always the victory walk. So its just the blasted parking lot to 1/4 mark that ruins my mood. Morale is verry bitter. BUT Im glad I never backed down. Ever. I heard one old Grinder (60+) telling others who were struggled: Its a challenge, its why we do it. And sure as hell Im very happy that I didn't back down on my 8th time. Because guess who I saw, when I was riding the tram down?

.
.

Rob Feenie! I was initially embarassed to ask him for an autograph, but he was pretty chill about it, so its all gravy. Half jokingly, I asked shouldn't there be promos for grinders? His lady friend laughed it off. Anyways hes a portly guy tahehe.

Drove to Sen5es, to pick up cake #1 to celebrate w/ my co-workers. Then it was a rush to get back home, shower and work from 100-930.

8.19: Biked to work, 11-730. Biked back, shower and off to buddy's farewell party at Foggy. 1st time I got really drunk was drinking at his place, the occasion his 19th. I never liked the taste of beer after trying Kokanee, Molson, Stella etc. Suprisingly, Rickards is actually not bad, goes down nice and easy. So I had 4!!! Then after buying my buddy and another co-worker 2 Guiness. I tried that shit. Not bad. Very foamy. Gosh, it felt like a loaf of bread. New personal best -- 5 beers in one night. Pissed it all out too. Weight gain = insignificant.

8.20
: This was my 3rd degree of drunkness: I woke up still drunk. No headache. But it was certainly amusing. Navigating has never been that befuddling harharhar. Work 11-530. Pay raise eh? OK!

Sen5es cake #2, for co-workers that missed out on Fri's cake

8.21 Sister comes back from Thailand! Thx for the presents! Wowwww Thailand sounnnnnds sooooo much fun. Jealous to the max. Hearing that she got to ride on Rambo, eat jumbo shrimp (pardon me)...seeing monkeys roaming freely on the street, tamed elephants lumbering around as well....Ahhh now I absolutely need to be boost my GPA so I can do some co-op and exchange. To Germany? England? Australia? Im gonna be working hardy folks. Possiblities are endless. And Rambo is an elephant. Visited Grandma and seeing her evident improvements were also a plus. That made my day.

I got a lousy bag of chips. But...but...its seafood mayo flavoured! Aha!

8.22
Top Gun for dim sum. More Thailand adventures. Checked out some eyeglass frames. New frames for bday present, ready in mid sept

8.23 Today, Mia Stansby (Vancouver Sun Resto Critic) came through my till. Hardly anyone knows what she looks like, which fittingly preserves her annoymity. Her husband nodded in agreement when I suggested Memphis Blues to be a chill place to eat w/ friends. Vegans + Vegetarians -- kindly get lost

Shit, I've been pending this for toooo long: 1st I'm gonna write to my sponsered child. Then, organize a team of four to the 16th BMO Grouse Grind Mountain Run. Then figure out, when im free to to skydive...

Adios Amigos
