Stephen Lewis speaking on: A Vision for a World Free of HIV/AIDS

I was again incredibly fortunate for the opportunity to see Mr. Lewis, listen to his very animated speeches and then ask many long-winded questions

"Its a great thing to be engaged in the struggle for social justice and equality.

And
when you do in a way which speaks to the courage, sophistication,
intelligence, resilience at the community level of a continent, then
you are making an appreciable contribution in this world.

Its
gratifying personally. But its liberating for huge numbers of people
who are fighting communicable disease, the like of which this world has
never encountered."

And by God, if the political leadership doesn't do it, then let the public of Canada be engaged."

seriously, i didn't ask you if my suggestion was flawed or not....

just like you didn't ask me if your argument was flawed or not, and that's why i'm not going to SAY it even though deep down i do think it is. makes sense? there is this thing called "respet" or "courtesy" however you want to call it.

well, this applies to everyone, not just you. if people don't agree with what i say, that's  fine. they don't HAVE to agree. they can keep thinking the way they think. that is perfectly fine. they don't have to tell me that i must think they way they do and however i think is flawed because it is different from what they think. they don't have to voluntarily provide me any opinion if i never ask them to. they can just be quiet. if they JUST REALLY REALLY REALLY do want to share something with me, fine fine, i'll listen, but they don't have to attack my thoughts in order to share their thoughts. they're no better than anyone else. i'm no better than anyone else. i think this is a very basic common sense. i am sure you know what i am trying to say. the bottom line is, if you are going to say "your idea sucks", "your thinking is so flawed", "you are wrong", seriously, don't comment, please. thank you very much.

i have been polite all this time and tried to give you hint. i expected you to have enough intelligence to be able to guess what i have been trying to say, but if you really need me to be loud and clear, here it is. you are no one to judge me, lecture me, or tell me how i should behave. in fact, no one is, and vice versa for me and everyone else in the world. i have no intention of judging you, lecturing you, or telling you how you should behave UNLESS your actions affect me, my property, and my belongings, such as my xanga site.  i don't want to block anybody here, so don't make me. you're entitled to your opinions. i am entitled to mine. i don't tell you that you are wrong when i disagree with you. i am telling you to do the same. if you insist on doing the opposite, i guess there is only one way to solve this problem, but i won't consider it until you have really pissed me off. it's your choice. i am leaving it to you.
